Stena Recycling International AB hosts the R&D department within the Stena Metall Group. Stena Metall Group is a large family owned recycling company mainly active in the northern parts of EU. The Group includes more than 250 recycling sites where materials such as end of life vehicles, electronic waste and industrial wastes are treated. The group services also includes collection of metal, paper and plastic waste for further material recycling. Group turnover is about 2 million € with 3500 employed. Cobalt related activities include dismantling of Li-ion batteries from vehicle in Sweden and classification/separation of small batteries in Denmark.
