AkkuSer Oy engages in recycling and processing hazardous batteries and accumulators. The company receives, stores, and sorts Ni-Mh, Li-ion, Ni-Cd, and lead accumulators and alkaline batteries; and processes and sends them in various forms of existence for handling to foundries. It receives battery and accumulator waste from waste management organizations in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Austria, and Denmark. AkkuSer already processes nearly all the battery waste generated in Finland today. The company was founded in 2005 and is based in Nivala, Finland.
